We look forward to welcoming Friends from near and far to Arch Street Meeting House this October. We invite you to join us for a day of worship, learning, and fellowship as we gather for our next Quarterly Meeting.

The day includes plenty of opportunity to worship, share a meal, learn together, and connect with Friends throughout the day. Here’s a look at what we have planned:

  • 9:30 AM– Hymn singing or Fall Walking Series: Friends have the option to join us for hymn singing or pair up with someone you don’t know well for a 45-minute walk through Old City. Each paid can choose their own route and will return in time for worship. This is an easy, low-pressure opportunity to have a longer one-on-one conversation and get to know others in our community. Complimentary coffee and disposable cups will be provided by the Outreach Committee.
  • 10:30 AM– Meeting for Worship
  • 12:00 PM– Lunch fellowship (potluck contributions are welcome) in the East Room
  • 1:00 PM– Program: The Impact of William Penn and His Holy Experiment: Then and Now, with Interfaith Philadelphia in the West Room

After more than 250 years, what are William Penn’s enduring contributions? How did Penn’s Quaker values inform his understanding? Where did the Holy Experiment succeed and where did it fall short? What would Penn make of Philadelphia, his “Greene Country Towne” today?

Getting There

Arch Street Meeting House is located on320 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19106

Parking: The parking lot entrance is on 4th street, just below Arch Street. First come, first serve!

By public transit:

  • Market-Frankford Line (L): Get off at 5th Street/Independence Hall and walk about 5 minutes east to 4th & Arch.
  • Regional Rail: Get off at Jefferson Station and walk about 10 minutes east to the Meeting House.
  • SEPTA Bus: Routes 5, 17, 33, 38, 44, 47, 48, and 57 serve the area around 4-5th Streets and Arch Street.
  • PATCO: Get off at 8th & Market and walk east toward 4th Street, about 10-12 minutes.
